Overview

SQL DBA - Data heavy platform within the automotive industry - Hybrid

Role - SQL DBA

Type - Fixed term contract (3 months initially)

Salary - 75,000 - 80,000

Location - Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office (Victoria, London) / 3 day remote

Start - ASAP, need to have the ability to start by 8th August

Spec -

PURPOSE OF POST:

• Load Testing Plan and Execution
• DataOps practices (CI/CD for schema)
• Query tuning & execution plan analysis
• Governance, auditing, and compliance enforcement
• Working with developers to write scalable SQL
• Proactive anomaly detection using Query Store or Extended Events

Qualifications / Skills / Attributes Required by Job Holder

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DBA for 5+ years
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Redgate, SolarWinds)
• Hands-on with performance tuning and optimization (PTO)
• Experience in backup and recovery best practices
• Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) options
• Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and automation
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
