Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Spray Painter to join a well-established fabrication company in Newark, NG24. The role focuses on surface preparation, painting and powder coating with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality finishes in a busy workshop.

Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, you will prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and assist with assembly while maintaining safety and organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven spray painting experience in fabrication or industrial settings.
• Strong attention to detail and finish quality.
• Forklift licence is preferred.
• Able to follow health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items for painting and prime to specified thickness.
• Apply paint and powder coatings and top coats as required.
• Remove rust and scale by sanding/grinding; degrease and wash products.
• Inform Quality Control of any major non-conformance; inspect items during preparation.
• Maintain workspace to a high standard and ensure extraction systems are clean.
• Transport products using lifting equipment; attend training courses as required.
