Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking Learning Support Assistants to join specialist SEN and SEMH schools in Bath. You’ll work with pupils needing extra support, using sports-based activities to boost engagement and confidence.

Ideal candidates have a sports coaching or youth-oriented background. You’ll collaborate with teachers and staff to support learning and wellbeing, fostering resilience and positive behaviours daily.

Qualifications

• Background in sports coaching, fitness, mentoring, youth work, or team leadership.
• Experience with pupils who have additional needs is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and build confidence in young people.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with pupils who need additional support to engage with learning.
• Use sports and physical activities to build engagement and relationships.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and learning difficulties.

We're looking for energetic, positive, and resilient individuals with a background in sports coaching, fitness, mentoring, youth work, or team leadership to join specialist SEN and SEMH schools as Learning Support Assistants.

What you'll be doing

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils who need additional support to engage with learning and develop confidence in school.

Your day could include:

Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and learning difficulties
Using sports and physical activities to build engagement and positive relationships
Encouraging teamwork, resilience, and self-belief
Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
Working alongside teachers and specialist staff to support learning and wellbeing
