Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Design Lead to take ownership of sports infrastructure and field-of-play projects from its base in West Yorkshire. You will lead the design of high-profile sports surfaces and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring designs meet technical standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, MEP, Building Services, Architecture or a related technical discipline.
• Professional accreditation desirable.
• Experienced Design Lead or Design Manager from civil/MEP/infrastructure background.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of sports infrastructure and field‑of‑play projects through RIBA Stages 0-7, ensuring designs meet technical standards and client requirements.
• Review, approve and manage drawings, specifications and technical documentation, maintaining accuracy and detail.
• Act as the key design interface between clients, architects, engineers, contractors and internal disciplines, including turf, irrigation, drainage and lighting; mentor junior staff.
