Job summary

The University of Strathclyde is seeking Sport Attendants to join Strathclyde Sport's Operational team on a minimum of 100 guaranteed hours per year. You will deliver high-quality customer service, lifeguard duties, and help with equipment setup and reception tasks using the Gladstone system.

Responsibilities include pool lifeguarding, assisting with bookings and memberships, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and working to a Duty Manager schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid RLSS or STA Pool Lifeguard qualification.
• Customer-focused with reception duties.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible hours: 6.30am–10.30pm Mon–Fri; 8.30am–6.30pm Sat/Sun if applicable.

Job description

The University of Strathclyde is looking to employ several Sport Attendants on a minimum of 100 guaranteed hours per year contract to join the existing Operational team at Strathclyde Sport. This is a varied role and you will be required to deliver a high quality and excellent customer experience for all users. You will possess an ability to work on your own initiative and have a commitment to working within a team.
Your main duties include swimming pool lifeguarding, setting up and down of sports and class equipment and working on reception using a Leisure Management System (Gladstone) dealing with day to day enquiries, bookings and memberships. As part of the team you will help ensure a safe, secure and clean environment for the users. All candidates must have a valid and current RLSS or STA Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Hours offered will be between 6.30am to 10.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 6.30pm and will be line managed by a Duty Manager.
