Job summary

Compass Community Schools in Burnley is seeking a proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong Sport and Physical Education background to join a small, dedicated teaching team. The role focuses on developing sport provision, PE delivery, and wellbeing for students with SEMH and SEND.

You will support in classrooms and on educational trips, working with a team that values resilience, flexibility and a non-judgemental approach to behaviour management.

Qualifications

• Experience as HLTA with focus on Sport and Physical Education.
• Ability to plan and deliver PE, organise external PE opportunities.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and coordination of the school’s sporting provision.
• Plan and deliver engaging physical education and sports activities.
• Coordinate external PE and sporting opportunities.
• Support students undertaking BTEC Sport and assist in classrooms/trips.
