Job summary

Orbital South Colleges Group seeks an experienced Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Practice Lead to provide specialist leadership across our colleges, shaping high-quality support for learners with dyslexia, dyscalculia and related needs. You will oversee screening, assessment, exam access arrangements and assistive technology, while managing a caseload and line-managing SpLD staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with Level 4 qualification or higher.
• Level 7 SpLD Assessor or Exam Access Arrangements qualification (e.g., CPT3A, PATOSS, PAPAA).
• Experience supporting learners with specific learning difficulties in education.
• Knowledge of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Experience of exam access arrangements and JCQ requirements.
• Strong safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of specialist SpLD provision across the college group.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams, support services and external professionals to identify learner needs.
• Oversee screening and assessment processes and exam access arrangements.
• Support effective use of assistive technology and manage a caseload of learners (including those with EHCPs).
• Line manage a team of SpLD and learning support staff.
