Your Role & Responsibilities

As a Specialist Support Worker, you will provide tailored 1:1 guidance to students. Your core responsibilities include:

Expert Guidance:

Apply your in-depth knowledge of how SpLDs affect language and learning to support students in a Higher Education context.

Strengths-Based Support:

Identify individual student strengths and help them utilise these to overcome academic barriers.

Assist students in developing personalised strategies for organisation, time management, and academic success.

Provide guidance and support on utilising relevant assistive technology to enhance learning.

What We're Looking For

To excel in this specialist role, we are looking for candidates who possess:

Qualifications:

An Undergraduate Degree (Level 6) or PG qualification.

Professional Membership:

You must hold active membership with a relevant professional body (as listed in our standard compliance framework here). Ideally PATOSS, BDA or ADSHE memberships

Expertise:

Deep understanding of SpLDs and a commitment to maintaining professional confidentiality and boundaries.

Skills:
