We have an excellent opportunity for support workers to work alongside our client in Cwmbran, Monmouthshire.

Our client is a female in her 60s who has complex needs due to spinal injury, including manual handling, continence care, hypersensitivity to touch, neuropathic pain in the lower half of her body, memory issues, and difficulty with emotional regulation, anxiety, and depression. She lives in her own home (an adapted bungalow), enjoys audiobooks, her garden, and creative writing. She's also interested in learning archery and engaging more in her local community.

Due to the client’s support needs, the successful candidate can be either female or male, must have some experience working with complex needs, ideally in mental health support, and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a supportive relationship. Living as independently as possible is very important to our client, so experience helping people grow and maintain this independence is also key.

Hours: 48 per week over five days (08:00 - 20:00 with sleep-in shifts)

Key Responsibilities:

The Libertatem Healthcare Group (part of Sonderwell) was established to provide the very best levels of care and support for clients who have sustained personal injuries or suffered from medical negligence. Operating on a national basis, we provide our clients with care and support wherever they are located. Our packages prioritize our client’s independence at the very centre of everything we do.

  • Supporting and engaging with personalized routines, including hoists.
  • Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Libertatem's care philosophy is based on independence, communication, and our people. We're dedicated to providing our clients with the best possible support and our staff with the tools to succeed. If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you. For more information, contact [email protected]
