NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a motivated SLT Clinical Support Worker to support patients with communication and swallowing difficulties under the guidance of Speech and Language Therapists. The role is based at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and involves delivering therapy, preparing materials and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in a health, therapy or care-related discipline or equivalent qualification.
• Experience supporting individuals with communication difficulties.
• Experience in healthcare or care settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; adapt style to individuals.
• Good IT skills and data entry ability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group therapy programmes under the guidance of a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Support patients with communication and swallowing difficulties, providing encouragement.
• Monitor patient progress and feed back to SLTs to aid treatment planning.
• Prepare therapy resources and communication materials for interventions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and activity data in line with standards.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective care.
• Support service improvements including audits, data collection and CPD.
