Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (Band 4) to support children and young people aged 0-16 across Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and AAC Lothian. You will assist SLTs, develop resources, and contribute to training in inclusive communication.

The post involves working with the Paediatric Major Trauma Centre rehab team and AAC Lothian office, with duties across multiple settings in Lothian. Pro-rata salary applies for part-time work.

Responsibilities

• Support the general acute CYP team, providing therapeutic interventions under supervision.
• Contribute to development of clinical resources and training in inclusive communication.
• Assist with administrative activities to ensure a high-quality service.
• Part of Paediatric Major Trauma Centre rehab team contributing to patient care and quality improvement.
• Work within the AAC Lothian team office to assist with equipment loan bank.
• Support implementation of powered augmentative communication devices across settings.
