Job summary

Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Bank Band 4 Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to support the SLT service for children and families across Devon. You will assist with group sessions, assessments, and delivery of care plans under supervision.

Based at Wonford House, Exeter, the role offers flexible working patterns, Agenda for Change pay (£14.52–£15.93 per hour) and requires GCSEs in Maths and English plus a foundation level qualification.

Qualifications

• Essential experience working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community/education settings.
• Experience working with Speech and Language Therapists and in a team.
• Knowledge of professional boundaries and ability to seek guidance as needed.
• Willingness to participate in supervision and appraisal processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing the Speech and Language Therapy Service to children with speech, language and communication needs across Devon Partnership Trust.
• Assist with setting up parent groups, children’s groups, and individual assessments and interventions.
• Develop resources and care packages; monitor progress within a programme set by a Speech and Language Therapist.
