Job summary

The Witherslack Group seeks a Speech and Language Therapist to join Cedar House School in Bentham. This independent specialist day school serves boys and girls with SEMH and related needs, with opportunities to work across South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team providing individualized interventions, supporting education and residential colleagues, and upholding safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
• Be a specialist with proven skills and experience to engage and deliver therapeutic interventions with children and young people with complex needs.
• Need experience of supporting teams around a child or young person to ensure they are being provided with clinically informed living and learning environments and experiences.
• Be a confident, engaging and effective, model, guide, leader and trainer.
• Be highly organised and ready to take the initiative.
• Be committed to ensuring the best outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions with children and young people with complex needs.
• Support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary clinical team based on assessment and formulation to offer individualized interventions.
• Be a confident, engaging model, guide, leader and trainer for staff and peers.
• Remain highly organised and proactive in managing caseloads and outcomes.
• Uphold safeguarding and promote the welfare of young people.
