Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Trust is seeking a passionate, senior Speech & Language Therapist to lead a specialist SLT service for pupils with highly complex needs. You will deliver targeted interventions, embed communication strategies across the curriculum and work closely with staff, families and external professionals.

The role requires HCPC and RCSLT registration, and experience with ASC, SEMH and complex communication needs, along with strong leadership and collaborative skills.

• Provide advanced clinical expertise and oversee therapy provision across sites.
• Strategically embed communication approaches school-wide.
• Deliver training, supervision and staff development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary work and contribute to service development and QA.
• Provide clinical leadership within responsibility area.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist, outcome-focused interventions for pupils with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)


• Embed communication strategies across the curriculum to support access to learning


• Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach


• Contribute to staff training and professional development, supporting a whole-school approach to SLCN, Lead the development and delivery of a specialist speech and language therapy service for pupils with highly complex needs


• Provide advanced clinical expertise and oversee therapy provision across your site


• Embed communication strategies across the curriculum at a strategic level


• Deliver and oversee training, supervision, and staff development


• Coordinate multidisciplinary working and contribute to service development and quality assurance


• Provide clinical leadership within your area of responsibility

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy with HCPC and RCSLT registration


• Experience working with children and young people with ASC, SEMH, and complex communication needs


• Strong communication, organisational, and collaborative working skills
