Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Speech & Language Therapist to support children and young people with autism and related learning difficulties in a specialist educational setting. Based in Bracknell, Berkshire, this full-time role follows school hours and offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

You will work with therapists, educators and other professionals to provide high-quality, person-centred support, in a setting focused on safety, structure and holistic development.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism, ideally in an educational or SEN setting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake initial assessments to establish scope, level and nature of the young person’s therapeutic and mental health needs.
  • Lead and facilitate group and/or individual therapy sessions, short and long-term, ensuring interventions meet the needs of the YP and therapy plan.
  • Manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload, delivering within agreed timescales.
  • Work independently and with previous experience of working with young people with ASD, preferably within an education setting.

Speech & Language Therapist | Classroom based | SEN School

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire | Full-time | School hours 8:30am-3:30pm

Milk Education are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated speech & language therapist to support children and young people with autism and associated learning difficulties within a specialist educational setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced practitioners and newly qualified professionals looking to develop their skills within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with therapists, educators, and other professionals to provide high-quality, person-centred support.

About the Role

You will be working in a specialist setting supporting students aged 7-19 with autism spectrum conditions and additional needs. The provision focuses on creating a safe, positive, and structured environment where each young person is supported to achieve their full potential.

The setting takes a holistic approach, centred around three key areas:

  • Education
  • Independence
  • Inclusion
Main duties and expectations:
  • You will receive and respond promptly to referrals undertaking initial assessments to establish the scope, level and nature of the individual young person's therapeutic and mental health needs.
  • You will lead and facilitate group and/or individual therapy sessions, short and long-term, ensuring interventions continue to meet the needs of the YP and are consistent with the provisions detailed in their therapy plan.
  • You will manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload, ensuring delivery within the agreed timescales.
  • Ability to work independently and with previous experience of working with young people with ASD, preferably within an education setting, is essential.
