Job summary

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 SLT Lead to job-share 22.5 hours over 3 days. The post can be based at Pershore or Bromsgrove, with flexible working options and strong support for well-being.

You will support the SLT team in assessments and treatment of stroke patients with speech, language, voice, fluency and/or swallowing disorders, primarily in the community setting, while the other Lead covers inpatient stroke rehabilitation.

An opportunity has arisen to job share the current Band 7 SLT Lead role. The job would be to work 22.5hrs over 3 days to compliment 2 days worked by the current Lead. The post would be based either at Pershore or Bromsgrove dependent on the successful candidate's home address. We support flexible working, and the Trust is excellent in supporting well-being. The ability to use your initiative, work proactively, demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills, lead a team, manage and prioritise your own workload and respond flexibly to changing demands are essential requirements of the post. As a trust we offer a robust induction period and continue to promote opportunities for development through 1:1 supervision session, peer working and in-service training. Applicants must read the attached guidance notes before submitting your application for full understanding of Trust requirements., Day to day, you will be supporting the SLT therapists to undertake comprehensive assessments and treatment of stroke patients with speech, language, voice, fluency and/or swallowing disorders. This will mostly be for stroke survivors within the community setting whilst the other Lead will be leading from our inpatient stroke rehabilitation unit. You will support with the more complex cases, supervise, coach and develop the speech and language therapists within the team. It is also expected that you will offer leadership, support and education to the wider team and lead on service development within this niche speciality.
