Location: Walsall

Our private client is recruiting a locum Speech and Language Therapist for their Independent Specialist Day School in Walsall.

The school caters to a diverse group of pupils aged 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and related needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's specific needs and EHCP targets.
• Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) of pupils aged 8-16 with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and related diagnoses.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other therapy professionals to integrate SLT strategies into the curriculum.
• Support classroom learning by advising on communication-friendly environments and strategies for behaviour linked to communication difficulties.

Requirements:

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
• Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and related neurodevelopmental needs.
