Role Description:

Join our dynamic team at Oak Vale Gardens’ 18-bed specialist neuro-rehabilitation service in Liverpool. We are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation network, dedicated to providing exceptional level 3 inpatient rehabilitation support to adults with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions, including PDOC cases.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will assess, intervene, and consult on cases involving complex communication, swallowing difficulties, and tracheostomy care.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments of communication and swallowing disorders in individuals with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Provide consultation to the interdisciplinary team to improve patient care.
• Collaborate with nurses, rehabilitation staff, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation consultants, activities coordinators, and neuropsychologists.

Requirements:

• Recognized Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
• Registration with the HCPC.
• Experience in assessing and treating complex communication, swallowing issues, and tracheostomy care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
