We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and passionate Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join the Acute/Rehab Stroke Team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHTR). This is a comprehensive stroke centre offering a variety of work across the stroke pathway.
This rotational role involves working in HASU, acute stroke, and stroke rehabilitation settings. Responsibilities include managing complex acquired disorders of communication, cognition, and dysphagia, working with an established MDT. The team is part of a regional stroke network focused on quality improvement and training.
Experience with VFS and FEES clinics is advantageous; training can be provided if needed. The role involves working within a 6-day therapy service with future plans for 7-day coverage and cross-site working. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration across multiple sites.
CPD is actively supported, with opportunities to develop your clinical portfolio. Part-time and flexible working options are available.
The department is based at Royal Preston Hospital, serving multiple sites including Chorley District Hospital and a Community Healthcare Hub. The role entails providing specialist services to adults with communication, cognition, and dysphagia disorders across acute and rehab pathways, supporting clinical leadership, and engaging in service development, audit, and research.
