Job summary

Academics in Kingston is recruiting a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on person-centred therapy for students with SEND, including autism and learning disabilities, within an Outstanding Specialist College.

You will assess communication, AAC use, and feeding/eating needs, develop tailored therapy programmes, and collaborate with families and professionals to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership.
• Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Knowledge of AAC and eating & drinking assessments.
• Previous experience within an educational setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist
Location: Kingston
Salary: NHS Band 6 (£42,823-£50,559 FTE)
Working Pattern: Full-time (5 days per week), Term Time + 4 Weeks

An Outstanding Specialist College in Kingston is seeking a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join its dedicated multidisciplinary team. The college supports young people and adults with a range of special educational needs, including autism, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), communication difficulties and complex medical needs.

The successful candidate will provide person-centred Speech & Language Therapy, carrying out communication and eating & drinking assessments, supporting the use of AAC, developing individual therapy programmes, and working collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals to promote positive outcomes for students.

Requirements:

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent)
• HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership
