Job summary

Amazon Science in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a passionate Scientist to advance machine/deep learning for spoken language generation. You will work with a team to develop novel algorithms and models that improve Alexa's voice and expressiveness, leveraging large data resources and heterogeneous data sources.

You will lead, mentor, and collaborate with peers to deploy data-driven solutions that directly impact customers through speech technologies and products.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement novel Machine/Deep Learning approaches which add value to Amazon
• Lead and Mentor junior engineers and scientists
• Participate in the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models and analytical solutions for spoken language applications
• Develop and/or apply statistical modelling methods (e.g. deep neural networks), optimizations, and other ML techniques to different applications in spoken language engineering
