Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Specification Sales Manager – Building Automation to promote a range of building and home automation products. The role is national with four days on the road and one day in the South East office, focusing half on MEP/ME&E consultants and half on contractors.

You will inherit a £3.5m pipeline and are expected to grow it to £5m in year one, with 6-month no-target exposure followed by £500k and £1m targets in year two. A fully expensed Tesla car is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote a manufactured range of building and home automation products.

Job Title: Specification Sales Manager – Building Automation

Industry Sector: Smart Home, Electrical Engineering, Home Automation, Building Automation, Commercial Projects, Custom Applications, MEP Consultants, M&E Consultants and M&E Contractors

Area to be covered: National – one day per week in the office (South East)

Remuneration: £65,000 + 10-15% bonus year one, £6 figure OTE year two

The role of the Specification Sales Manager – Building Automation will involve:

• Field sales position promoting a manufactured range of building and home automation
• National role, you will spend 4 days per week out on the road in front of customers, one day working from our clients’ South East based office, making calls and setting appointments
• 50% of the role will focus on developing relations with MEP consultants and M&E consultants
• Remaining 50% developing relationships with M&E contractors
• You will inherit a project pipeline of circa £3.5m and will be expected to grow this to £5m in your first year
• No revenue target in the first 6 months, then £500k and £1m in the following year
• Circa 70% of your revenue will come via approx. 1000 installer partner relationships, 30% from your own network and business development activity

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager – Building Automation with:

• Must have specification field sales experience
• Knowledge of smart homes, home Automation or building automation is not required
• Open to most HVAC, Lighting, building services and other associated electrical field sales backgrounds
• Network of contacts within MEP consultants, M&E consultants and M&E contractors would be advantageous
• Must be comfortable with one day a week on the phone in the office
• IT Literate
• Tonnes of drive, will suit someone on the up in the career
