Job Details

This is a Specialty Doctor appointment for the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust based at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston. The post involves providing ophthalmic services to a population of over 750,000 across main and peripheral sites, including Boston, Lincoln, Grantham, Louth, Gainsborough, Skegness, and Spalding.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver comprehensive ophthalmic services supporting a countywide service and achieving the 18-week wait target.
2. Provide leadership within the department to support high-quality ophthalmic care.
3. Participate in the Middle Grade on-call rota for emergency duties and provide reciprocal emergency cover.
4. Engage in teaching and postgraduate education, including training ophthalmic trainees.
5. Attend clinical audits, departmental meetings, and contribute to clinical governance and regional/national audits.
6. Deliver general ophthalmology services, with a focus on high-volume cataract surgery to meet contractual obligations.
7. Participate in management duties within the department and organization.
8. Assist in CESR support for suitable candidates.
