Applications are invited for the post of a Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provision of Ophthalmic Services within the Trust with responsibility for the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of illness within the Ophthalmology department.
  2. Close working with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to assist in providing high quality patient care.
  3. The post holder will be accountable to clinical supervisors and Miss Hoda Amin as clinical lead for the department.
  4. Administration Duties: These include responsibility for inpatient discharge summaries, outpatient letters etc. and the management of other junior staff on the team.
  5. Duties other than those clinical duties specified will be in accordance with the Job Plan agreed between the Appointee, the present Consultants and the Chief Executive.
  6. The Job Plan allows time for Administration, Teaching and Medical Audit.
  7. Participation in audit/appraisal and CME is mandatory under clinical governance/GMC guidance.
  8. All clinicians may be required to work on any of the Humberwide partnership Trust’s sites and across the seven day period where necessary.
  9. Secretarial support and appropriate office accommodation and IT facilities will be provided.
