Job description

Applications are welcome for a fixed term Speciality Doctor post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology working 10 sessions per week at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. This post is to cover a maternity leave and is available for immediate start, through to 5th August 2025. The post-holder will work as part of the resident 1 in 7 on-call rota. The successful applicant will be encouraged to take an active part in service development.

Qualifications: Obstetrics and gynaecology experience of at least two years ST3+, or equivalent, in the specialty is essential. MRCOG part 1, or equivalent, is required and MRCOG part 2, or equivalent, is preferred. All applicants must hold valid registration with the GMC.

The annual delivery rate is approximately 1150. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team of six Consultants, an Associate Specialist, three Speciality Doctors and three specialty trainees.
