Job description

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Specialty Doctor in ENT on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful ENT department.

Our client is one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, offering learning and development opportunities to help you achieve your career goals. The Trust holds a 'Good' rating by the CQC and was in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey.

The successful appointee will join a team of ENT head and neck cancer surgeons, including Consultants, Fellows, and Specialty Registrars, delivering a full range of Head and Neck cancer, thyroid, and laryngology services. As a tertiary referral centre, the hospital offers comprehensive services reflecting this status.

Responsibilities include:

1. Having training and skills in ENT Surgery and diagnostic Head and Neck Cancer surgery.
2. Experience as a senior specialty registrar/doctor with expertise in diagnostic pathways for head and neck cancer.
3. Participating in ENT cancer services, especially diagnostic pathways.
4. Participating in emergency cover/on-call rota and providing cover in unforeseen circumstances at the request of the relevant Consultant.
5. Assisting in teaching junior medical staff and nursing staff.
6. Contributing to Clinical Governance and audit activities.

Our client's location is attractive, situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The nearby New Forest National Park and Jurassic Coast beaches offer excellent leisure options. The area has living costs approximately 20% lower than London and features 14 Ofsted-rated outstanding schools.
