Job summary

CYGNET is seeking a Specialty Doctor to join the Palm Court male acute service in a full-time role. You will work under a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care at Cygnet Churchill, with a focus on stabilisation and safe discharge planning within a 17-bed unit.

The post is a fixed-term contract for September to November. You will be involved in assessments, ward rounds, multi-disciplinary meetings, and court-related hearings while maintaining excellent clinical notes and governance.

Qualifications

• Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent)
• Experience in General Psychiatry and mental health diagnosis
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
• Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations
• Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings
• Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings and tribunals
• Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC guidelines
• Uphold policies and contribute to service governance and development
• Participate in on-call rota as required
