We are seeking an experienced full-time Specialty Doctor who will work at Cygnet Lodge Kewstoke and provide psychiatric care on our 12 bed high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men who have enduring mental illness and may have been detained under the Mental Health Act.
At Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke we are looking to rotate Specialty Doctors between wards so there is an opportunity to gain a varied clinical exposure as well as a chance to work with different consultants.
Cygnet Lodge Kewstoke provides a high quality care through a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach in a community facing environment. We focus on successful discharge planning from the moment individuals arrive.
Service users may have a range of mental health difficulties, including personality disorder or a mild learning disability (as a secondary diagnosis). Our approach focuses on a culture of risk management balanced with therapeutic optimism, where men have the opportunity to develop and practice skills they will need in a safe environment.
You will be fully involved as a practising psychiatrist – while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class multidisciplinary team.

This programme will help you develop the skills you need to progress to Consultant level – and you'll rotate within wards/services to gain valuable experience across various subspecialties.
You'll also have an educational supervisor to review your progress and oversee your development – and you'll receive support with MRCPsych exams.
