Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Specialised Software Development Engineer (SDE-I) to work on privacy, hypervisor, and IoT device projects across multiple locations within the EMEA region. You will contribute to state-of-the-art systems, including Ring and EC2-related initiatives, while collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams.

You will design and implement software for large-scale distributed systems, ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or related STEM field.
• Graduation expected Aug 2026 – Nov 2026 or recently graduated (within 24 months).
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Go).
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Embedded development in C/C++ or related hardware debugging.
• Experience with Linux, Embedded Development, Firmware, Shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced solutions in privacy, hypervisors, or IoT devices.
• Work with technologies like AWS Nitro System or Ring products.
• Contribute to industry-defining projects and scalable distributed systems.
• Design and implement innovative software solutions for complex architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge products and services.
• Develop and optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Contribute to privacy-oriented services, hypervisors, or IoT device software.
• Work on low-level system components including OS and device drivers.
• Implement security measures to protect customer data and regulatory compliance.
