An opportunity is available in the Urology department at The Royal Oldham Hospital for an experienced doctor who can provide demonstrable expertise in Urology to deliver a high-quality independent service and manage complex cases with reference to a consultant. This post is for 12 months initially.
The successful post holder will be based at The Royal Oldham Hospital (elective in-patients and on-call) with clinical commitments at Rochdale Infirmary (day case and diagnostics). Outpatients’ clinics are delivered across Oldham, Rochdale and Fairfield sites.
The Urology Directorate provides an acute urology service as well as inpatient and day case elective surgery on the Royal Oldham site. The Urology Service at NCA East has 18 inpatient beds at the Royal Oldham site on Ward T6 (emergencies) and F12 (electives).
The post holder with be responsible, under the supervision of the consultant, for the day-to-day care of elective and emergency patients. You will be expected to play a full part in the relevant departmental rota at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
The post holder will work and liaise with the colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to ensure an appropriate, professional and timely provision of care to patients.
Opportunities to work with a consultant will be provided to ensure on-going requirements for professional development and education. Robust medical revalidation and appraisal systems exist across the Northern Care Alliance, through which you will be allocated an appraiser and undertake an annual appraisal.
