Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking dedicated tutors to deliver sessions in homes, online, and in community settings across the UK. You will support pupils with SEMH, SEND, MLD, SLD, and PMLD, tailoring lessons to EHCP and risk assessments while maintaining safeguarding standards.

The role offers flexible scheduling, part-time to full-time hours, and a supportive team environment focused on compassionate, trauma-informed education for young people who need extra help.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally with SEND/ SEMH needs.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
  • Based in the UK with right to work, including for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with children and young people with SEND/SEMH.
  • Deliver in-person, online/remote, and hybrid tutoring sessions.
  • Plan and report on lessons; provide feedback on progress.

Job description

When you want to grow your career beyond the classroom, you can become a Specialist Teacher, delivering sessions of learning in the young people's homes and out in the community, motivating students with creative, interest based learning.,

  • Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young persons needs, EHCP, and risk assessment
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • Experience: 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Approach: Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way; you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student-centred way.
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
  • Competitive pay: £35 - £45 per hour
