Job summary

Worsbrough Common Primary School in England is seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, helping pupils with additional needs access learning and develop confidence.

You will work with teachers, SENDCo and external professionals to deliver targeted interventions for children with hearing impairments and other needs, while promoting inclusion and wellbeing.

Applicants may be qualified or pursuing a BSL qualification; visits to the school are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND including hearing impairments.
• Assist with adapting activities for ASD, SEMH, and communication needs.
• Be qualified or working towards a BSL qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for individual pupils and small groups with SEND.
• Adapt activities and communication approaches for a wide range of needs.
• Promote independence, confidence and inclusion.
• Deliver structured intervention programmes and measure impact.
• Support EHCPs and personalised plans as part of the team.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCo, parents and external professionals.
• Supervise classes during short-term teacher absence.
