Job summary

Top Marks Education in Oldham is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant – Hearing Impairment to support children with hearing loss across a range of educational settings, including Early Years.

You will work with Qualified Teachers of the Deaf, families and other professionals to provide tailored support, develop accessible resources and help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with hearing loss.
• Experience in an educational setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
• BSL Stage 1 or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to identified children with hearing loss.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and promote inclusion.
• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Adapt learning resources for accessibility.
• Maintain records and manage caseload across settings.
• Use ICT and equipment to support learning.
