Job summary

The Together Trust in Manchester is seeking an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our specialist educational service. You will independently manage a clinical caseload of students with diverse communication needs, including autism and AAC, working with teachers, OTs, educational psychologists, and behaviour support staff.

You will deliver assessments, develop intervention plans, monitor progress, supervise junior therapists, and contribute to policy development while

Qualifications

• At least two years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience working with children and/or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition.
• Knowledge of current evidence-based speech and language therapy approaches.
• Understanding of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage an independent caseload of students with autism and complex communication needs.
• Complete initial and ongoing speech, language and communication assessments.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based intervention programmes tailored to individual needs.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes.
• Provide clinical supervision and support to junior Speech and Language Therapists.
• Deliver training, consultation and advice to school staff to promote communication-friendly practice.
• Contribute to the development of clinical policies, procedures and specialist areas of practice.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
• Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure practice remains current and evidence informed.
