Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (0.8 WTE, part-time) to deliver expert SLT assessment and intervention for adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties across Knowsley and St Helens.

You will manage an independent caseload, undertake dysphagia assessments, and work across a range of community settings including patients' homes, clinics and care homes. Regular clinical supervision and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Accredited Speech and Language Therapy qualification (BSc)
• Registration with HCPC
• Postgraduate training/qualification in Dysphagia (Desirable)
• Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Independently manage and prioritise a complex caseload across Knowsley and St Helens.
• Assess and manage dysphagia with evidence-based management plans.
• Deliver care across community settings including outpatient clinics, care homes and patients' homes.
• Develop, implement and review person-centred treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with standards.
• Provide specialist advice to teams and partner organisations.
