Job summary

HealthJobs Ltd. in Liverpool is recruiting a Band 6 Learning Disabilities Speech & Language Therapist for a 3-month locum assignment. You will lead dysphagia assessments and manage a predominantly dysphagia caseload within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should be HCPC registered with a degree or diploma in Speech and Language Therapy and have postgraduate dysphagia training. Excellent report writing and communication skills are essential for effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy with HCPC registration.
• Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Postgraduate dysphagia training and experience managing a dysphagia caseload independently.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with adults with learning disabilities and complex communication needs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake specialist dysphagia assessments and reviews.
• Manage a predominantly dysphagia caseload independently.
• Complete full episodes of care from assessment through discharge.
• Develop and document dysphagia management plans.
• Provide recommendations and ensure implementation of interventions.
• Review and monitor treatment outcomes with clinical standards.
• Liaise with carers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and governance documentation.
