Job overview

This exciting full-time position involves a 50/50 split between the Paediatric Physiotherapy and Wheelchair Services. The role primarily involves working with children aged 0-19 with complex neurological issues, based at Hexham Hospital, and may include assessments and treatments in various settings, including homes and schools. Experience at Band 6 or 7 level is required; wheelchair experience is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Offer clinical education, supervision, and support to staff and students.

  • Supervise qualified and unqualified staff within the team.

Person specification
Qualifications
  • BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Member of the Health Professionals Council
  • Training qualification for supervising students
  • Experience in supervising undergraduate students
Desirable
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Postgraduate or specialist training (e.g., Masters, Action Research, McKenzie, etc.)
  • Leadership training (e.g., LEO/ILM)
Essential criteria
  • Valid driving licence and ability to use a car for work or a Trust lease vehicle
  • Postgraduate education and clinical skills in the specialist field
  • Knowledge of relevant health initiatives and frameworks
  • Membership in local or Trust-wide specialist groups or journal clubs
  • Experience in managing complex conditions
