HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity, working with around 1,000 local people annually to overcome or avoid homelessness.

It is an exciting time to join HARP. The organization has experienced significant growth and change over the past year, with ambitious plans to continue transforming lives.

About The Role

Are you motivated and passionate about making a difference in your community? Join our new team and project at Crowstone Manor as a Specialist Project Worker.

We seek a dynamic, innovative worker for our new team and project.

This role involves working within a team of five dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized support for long-term rough sleepers with complex needs, using a trauma-informed approach and ensuring services are delivered within a psychologically informed environment. The project aims to offer diverse support and collaborate with local organizations.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Build a supportive community that enhances self-esteem and confidence through personalized skills and resources.
  2. Report incidents and safeguarding concerns promptly, with follow-up plans.
  3. Deliver tailored, co-produced activities and services, respecting gender-informed approaches.
  4. Center support planning around residents’ needs and aspirations within a psychologically informed environment.
  5. Manage housing for residents in supported accommodation.
  6. Develop and review safety and risk management plans for all caseload residents.
  7. Maintain accurate, up-to-date information on the HARP In-Form database, complying with Data Protection laws.
  8. Assist residents with welfare, housing, benefits, and legal rights.
  9. Advocate for residents to access comprehensive internal and external support.
  10. Lead multi-agency meetings within the Team Around Me Model when required.
