HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity, working with around 1,000 local people annually to help them overcome or avoid homelessness.

Are you motivated and passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have a clean driver’s license and want to use it to help others less fortunate? If so, we invite you to join our new team and project at the Gender Specific Women’s Project as a Specialist Project Worker.

We seek a dynamic and innovative worker to join our new team for this exciting project.

The role involves working within a team of five dedicated to providing high-quality, individualised support for women experiencing multiple disadvantages and complex needs. We adopt a gender-specific, trauma-informed approach, ensuring client needs and aspirations are central to support planning, delivered in a psychologically informed environment. The project will also collaborate with local organisations to provide varied support services.

Main responsibilities include:

• Creating a supportive community to empower women, focusing on building skills and resources to enhance self-esteem and confidence.
• Providing guidance and mentorship to other project workers.
• Reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns promptly, with follow-up plans.
• Delivering tailored, co-produced activities and specialist services with a gender-informed approach.
• Ensuring women’s needs are central to support planning within a psychologically informed environment.
• Providing intensive housing management for residents in supported accommodation.
• Developing and reviewing safety and risk management plans for caseload clients.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant data on the HARP In-Form database.
• Supporting women in accessing welfare, housing, benefits, and legal rights.
• Advocating for women to ensure comprehensive support both internally and externally.
• Leading multi-agency meetings within the Team Around Me Model when required.
