Along with the clinical component this role, you will also take a leading role in the supervision of Junior Therapists, Students and Therapy Support workers in the team.

Individual support and development is essential in creating a rewarding work place environment. As a Trust, we ensure that your professional and academic needs, as well as your personal development and wellbeing are prioritised. We achieve this through a structured supervision programme, access to both local and external training opportunities and regular team training.

As a service, we aspire to continually improve and develop the service we provide to patients and are looking for someone who has a keen interest in service development. A proven record of successful service development is a desirable quality for someone looking to apply for this role.

Within This Post You Will Be Expected To

Provide high quality, safe and evidence based Physiotherapy intervention to in-patients across the T&O service, including early supported discharge planning.

Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service or caseload, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences.

Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

Line manage Band 5 Therapists and and Therapy Support Workers.

Supervise and educate undergraduate Therapy Students and assess their performance as required to ensure their standard of practice and knowledge meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.

Undertake evidence based audit and research projects to further own and team’s clinical practice and make recommendations to the clinical lead of that service regarding changes in practice by the team.

Contribute to the implementation of specific changes to practice and service protocols.

Deputise in the Band 7s absence as required.
