Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist with a strong interest in Education and Training to join our Pharmacy Training Team. The role involves broadening our training focus to include ward-based activities. The post is based at Scarborough hospital, with occasional travel to York hospital.

Applicants should be GPhC registered pharmacists with hospital experience or a proven track record in education and training. Candidates must hold or be working towards (in year 2) a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy up to Diploma level.

Experience in education and training is not essential, but a passion for developing others is crucial. Depending on experience, the role may be offered at band 7 to band 8a after meeting set objectives.

Main duties of the job

This position is based at Scarborough hospital, working with the cross-site training team to support training delivery.

Core service hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm, with participation in weekend, bank holiday, and on-call rotas.

The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, organization, and effective time management. A passion for quality patient care and supporting others' development is essential.

You will facilitate training for new starters, coordinate trainee pharmacist training, organize educational opportunities, and maintain clinical skills through direct pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting.
