An opportunity has arisen for a Permanent Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking paediatric dietetic team. The team delivers services across University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) and is well integrated with the Children's Hospitals at both Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton.
As a teaching hospital, we have extensive experience across many clinical areas and work closely with our tertiary centres for shared care patients. Managing a busy caseload is essential due to the high volume of patients and service flow.
We focus on empowering our team, driving Quality Improvement initiatives, and fostering a positive team culture emphasizing wellbeing and resilience. We actively promote social inclusion and celebrate colleagues within our department.
This post is primarily based at Royal Derby Hospital but may involve some work at Queens Hospital Burton. We offer a minimum of 30 hours per week, with 37.5 hours preferred.
The department provides services in areas such as food sensitivity and allergy, coeliac disease, cardiac conditions, Cystic Fibrosis, Metabolic conditions, PKU, inpatient and outpatient services, and children requiring Home Enteral Feeding.
Support is also provided to the epilepsy service managing ketogenic diets, feeding clinics, and children with diabetes. There is scope for rotation within the team to meet the establishment's needs.
You will be an active member of the Paediatric Dietetic team and the wider department. We are a welcoming, forward-thinking, and supportive team of paediatric dietitians, supported by dietetic assistant practitioners. We engage in project work and service improvement based on evidence-based practice.
We maintain close relationships with the wider MDTs within the hospital, including consultants, specialist nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and the play team. This provides opportunities for advanced clinical supervision as respected team members.
