Job summary

NHS Professionals is recruiting a Band 7 Specialist Dietitian to join the Dietitian adults team at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. You will provide nutritional support to patients and carers with Upper GI and Head & Neck tumour sites, supporting their dietary needs throughout treatment and care, working with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will contribute to site pathways, attend MDT meetings, and deliver a dedicated oncology telephone clinic

Qualifications

• Nutrition and Dietetics degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
• HCPC registered Dietitian.
• Evidence of post-registration training.
• Oncology dietetics experience in an acute setting.
• Post-registration clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver gestational diabetes telephone clinic with structured dietary education.
• Explain gestational diabetes information in practical steps.
• Assess callers’ understanding during telephone consultations.
• Discuss practical dietary changes for daily meals and lifestyle after diagnosis.
• Contribute to development of Teams-based group education model.
• Support review and refinement of gestational diabetes education pathway.
