A leading healthcare provider is seeking a motivated band 6 Occupational Therapist for its Stroke, Rehabilitation, and Early Supported Discharge Team. We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and friendly band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke, Rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge Team at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust.
You will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital Telford covering the inpatient stroke unit.
We are looking for the post holder to have experience in Stroke or neurology. You must have current HCPC registration relevant to this position.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, has good time management skills, works well in a team as well as independently and is able to aid and appraise Band 5’s and Support Worker staff. The post holder would be expected to mentor students by being a practice educator linked with the universities.
We are able to offer patients the opportunity of assessment and treatment over weekends and Bank Holidays and the post holder would be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota for this.

Our acute stroke service is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. Services include hyper acute and acute stroke care wards. We work closely with our Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team which are based in Shrewsbury and are line managed by the same managers.
We have a strong culture of professional leadership and support. Each profession has a head of profession delivering local, regional and national professional strategy. This includes AHP’s into action, job planning, electronic rostering, electronic data capture, quality improvement strategy, and representation at internal and external meetings raising the profile of Therapies at all times.
We are a friendly, supportive and welcoming team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and our therapy support worker team. We as a team strive for clinical excellence and are motivated for service improvement and people development. We are invested in our team and so offer regular in-service training sessions and external training opportunities, as well as regular clinical supervision by our experienced clinical leads.
