Job summary

bMindful Psychology is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team across the North West, focusing on CAMHS, neurodevelopmental and sensory processing needs. You will deliver expert assessments, recommendations and intervention plans to help children and families participate more fully in daily life.

You will collaborate with schools, care teams and professionals to develop evidence-based plans, produce high-quality reports, and support the child’s wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working therapeutically with children and young people.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
• Experience supporting children with complex developmental, emotional or mental health needs.
• Experience assessing and supporting sensory processing and regulation needs.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Postgraduate training or substantial experience in Sensory Integration or sensory processing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for children and young people with complex needs.
• Undertake specialist sensory assessments and develop sensory profiles.
• Support children with autism, ADHD and related neurodevelopmental presentations.
• Develop practical, individualized sensory strategies and intervention plans.
• Provide recommendations for home, school and community settings.
• Produce clear assessment reports and recommendations for families and professionals.
• Deliver individual and group OT interventions where appropriate.
• Offer consultation to parents, carers, teachers and MDTs.

bMindful Psychology are currently recruiting a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team, supporting children and young people across the North West.This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with experience in CAMHS, neurodevelopmental presentations and sensory processing who is passionate about delivering high-quality assessments, interventions and recommendations that make a lasting difference to the lives of children and families.

Job Summary

bMindful Psychology is looking for an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team, with a particular focus on CAMHS, neurodevelopmental and sensory Occupational Therapy.We are experiencing increasing demand for specialist OT assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural, developmental and sensory needs. We are therefore looking for an OT who can bring strong clinical expertise in this area and help us expand our capacity to support children, families, schools and care teams.You will work with children and young people across a range of settings, including education, residential care, family and community environments, working alongside psychologists, psychotherapists, SaLTs, other OTs and wider professionals. You will undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and develop evidence-based recommendations and intervention plans that help children and young people participate more successfully in everyday life. The role will have a particular focus on sensory processing and regulation, alongside the wider functional impact of neurodevelopmental, emotional and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing comprehensive Occupational Therapy and functional assessments for children and young people with complex or multiple needs.
• Undertaking specialist sensory assessments, developing sensory profiles and identifying the impact of sensory processing differences on regulation, participation, learning and everyday functioning.
• Working with children and young people presenting with autism, ADHD, developmental differences, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties and complex mental health needs.
• Developing practical, individualised sensory strategies and intervention plans.
• Providing recommendations for home, education, residential and community settings.
• Supporting children and young people with areas including self-regulation, independence, daily living skills, participation, motor skills and environmental adaptation.
• Producing clear, high-quality assessment reports and recommendations for families, schools, care teams and referring professionals.
• Delivering individual and, where appropriate, group-based OT interventions.
• Providing consultation, advice and guidance to parents, carers, teachers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contributing to MDT discussions, clinical reviews and care planning.
• Working collaboratively with psychologists, psychotherapists, SaLTs, education professionals and social care colleagues to provide integrated support.

Qualifications and Skills

• BSc, MSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working therapeutically with children and young people.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
• Experience supporting children and young people with complex developmental, emotional or mental health needs.
• Experience assessing and supporting sensory processing and regulation needs.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Previous experience within CAMHS or a specialist neurodevelopmental service is desirable.
• Postgraduate training or substantial experience in Sensory Integration or sensory processing assessment and intervention.
• Experience working with autistic children and young people and/or children and young people with ADHD.
• Experience working within specialist education, SEMH, residential children's services or social care.
• Experience supporting children who have experienced developmental or relational trauma.
