Are you a caring and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse or are just about to qualify and are looking for a fresh or new opportunity? We may have just the role for you. We have permanent/full/part time opportunities for Staff Nurses within our Bed-based services for both adults and older people at Bowmere Hospital, Chester.

We offer wards that cater for acute admissions, assessment and treatment of dementia care, psychiatric intensive care and rehabilitation inpatient services. You would be required to work on a rotational shift basis, which includes days and nights.

You will be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team and have an ethos of collaborative working between individual service users, carers and other stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Please see attached information regarding Bowmere Hospital's acute mental health inpatient, psychiatric intensive care and rehabilitation unit.

You should possess commitment to team working and innovative delivery of excellent standards of care. You are able to demonstrate a real enthusiasm for mental health nursing, as well as a desire for on-going professional development. You will receive excellent training and opportunities for development, clinical supervision and appraisal. We offer our staff training packages, development and leadership pathways and a comprehensive preceptorship program for those who are newly qualified.

At CWP we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our staff and we therefore have regular engagement events to support our teams and to share ideas across disciplines and teams.

Bowmere has the following wards:

Beech & Juniper- acute admissions ward

Cherry - organic admissions ward

Willow - PICU

Maple - Male high dependency rehabilitation ward

We also run the ECT department for all CWP inpatients and outpatients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • RMN/RNLD
Knowledge and Expertise
  • Excellent communicator verbally and in terms of written work.
  • Well developed research based knowledge and practical nursing skills.
  • An understanding of basic management principles is essential as the post will involve taking charge of the service occasionally.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • A positive approach towards use of information technology.
Experience
  • 1st level mental health trained nurse, with a up to date knowledge of current mental health legislation
  • Experience of working with adults with a Learning Disability
  • Experience of carrying out clinical supervision
