Job summary

McGinley Support Services Infrastructure Ltd is seeking a Specialist Fitter / Fabricator to install and maintain GPS/machine control hardware on construction plant for HS2 projects. The role requires hands-on fitting, fabrication and calibration of GPS systems and associated components.

Qualifications

Experience: Any level of relevant experience considered, from a construction / civil engineering background.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, fit and maintain GPS and machine control equipment on construction plant and machinery.
• Work with

Topcon, Leica and/or Trimble GPS systems.

• Carry out fitting, fabrication and mechanical installation work.
• Install brackets, sensors, antennas, cables and associated GPS equipment.
• Assist with calibration, testing and commissioning of GPS systems.
• Diagnose and resolve basic equipment and installation issues.
• Carry out inspections and routine maintenance of installed equipment.
• Work alongside plant operators, engineers and site teams to ensure systems are correctly installed and functioning.
• Read technical information, drawings and installation instructions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs and maintenance.
• Travel to different construction sites as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in fitting, fabrication, plant, mechanical installation or a related field.
• Experience with

Topcon, Leica or Trimble GPS systems is desirable.

• Any level of relevant GPS/machine control experience will be considered.
• Good mechanical and practical skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.
• Good understanding of construction site safety.
• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
