Job summary

McGinley Support Services Infrastructure Ltd is seeking 8 Specialist Fitter Chargehands to join a long-term HS2 project. You will lead and coordinate plant maintenance and fitting activities on site, ensuring work complies with safety procedures and deadlines.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience, a supervisory background, and holds an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and Repair along with SSSTS and Working at Height training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate plant maintenance and fitting activities on site.
• Carry out maintenance, inspection, fault-finding and repair work on plant and equipment.
• Support the site team in planning and allocating daily tasks.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
• Follow risk assessments, method statements and site-specific safety procedures.
• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe condition.
• Identify and report defects, faults and potential safety issues.
• Work collaboratively with site management and other trades to meet project deadlines.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements.

8 Specialist Fitter Chargehands to join a long-term HS2 project. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced plant maintenance professionals with strong leadership skills and the relevant industry qualifications.

Successful candidates will have hands-on plant maintenance experience, the ability to lead and coordinate work on site, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate plant maintenance and fitting activities on site.

Carry out maintenance, inspection, fault-finding and repair work on plant and equipment.

Support the site team in planning and allocating daily tasks.

Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Follow risk assessments, method statements and site-specific safety procedures.

Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe condition.

Identify and report defects, faults and potential safety issues.

Work collaboratively with site management and other trades to meet project deadlines.

Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements.

NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and Repair.

Valid SSSTS certificate.

Previous experience in plant maintenance, fitting and repair.

Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.

Ability to work effectively within a busy construction environment.
