Job description

This is a Fixed Term Post until 31 March 2026

Sandwell Council are looking for Specialist Employment Adviser to join their team on a Fixed Term Basis.

You will provide professional and intensive support to jobseekers accessing the Connect to Work programme.

Connect to Work is a voluntary, 12-month, supported employment programme for Sandwell residents. You will hold small caseloads and follow either the Individual Placement Support (IPS) or the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) model to enable participants to progress into sustainable paid employment.

We would like to hear from applicants who have a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities, health conditions or those from disadvantaged groups into paid employment and believe that everyone can work with the right support.

Applicants should have:

• Level 3 in IAG or equivalent.
• Level 2 in English and Maths.
• Experience of supporting people with disabilities, health conditions or disadvantaged groups into employment.
• Experience of working to and achieving employment targets.
• Knowledge of the barriers people with disabilities, health conditions or those from disadvantage groups face when entering employment

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
