A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Specialist grade doctor in Dermatology at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich. The role involves autonomous patient management, independent outpatient clinics, and subspecialty theatre sessions. Candidates must have full GMC registration and substantial medical experience, particularly in Dermatology.
Applications are invited for a new Specialist grade post based at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich. The successful candidate will be a clinical expert in Dermatology.
The post holder will be a senior non-Consultant member of the Dermatology Service. Working autonomously, this Specialist grade doctor will take responsibility for their patients and manage a full range of presentations within the Service.
The successful candidate will undertake independent outpatient clinics, employing clinical decision skills to formulate management plans. Additionally, the appointee will perform subspecialty theatre sessions unsupervised.
While working autonomously, the post holder will understand their own limits and seek help when needed. They will adhere to the nationally outlined generic capabilities framework for the Specialist grade.
An agreed autonomous practice framework will define the competency levels for the post holder concerning independent and autonomous practice. The post holder will have an individual patient caseload as the responsible clinician, handling all administrative and governance responsibilities.
A Consultant mentor will support the post holder. The role primarily involves providing direct clinical care and meeting service delivery and improvement targets, supported by development opportunities.
Based on skills assessment, the post holder is expected to work with varying supervision levels, progressing to autonomous practice. They will follow protocols and guidelines relevant to their practice area.
